Melissa "Missy" Dedeaux

Melissa "Missy" Smith Dedeaux, age 56, of Long Beach, passed away on May 20, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald “Buster” Young; her grandparents, Robert M. and Doris Allen; and her biological father, T. Ronald Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Connie Allen Young; her children, Lexi Smith and Angelle Mitchell; her sisters, Wendy Smith Cioffi (Hal) and A. Leanne Smith Dempsey (Howard); her nephews, Colby Hartford, Brennon Dempsey, and Jonathan Dempsey; a great-nephew, Asher Hartford; her companion, Michael Dedeaux; and her “canine son, B.B.” and other relatives and friends.

Missy was a native of Long Beach and a graduate of Long Beach High School and American Beauty College.  She worked as a cosmetologist for 35 years and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 10 - 11:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am in the church.  Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
