Sadly, we announce the passing of Melissa Dawn Wilson McLean, 53, of Ocean Springs, MS, who went to be with Jesus on December 12, 2024. She was born on July 7, 1971, in Biloxi, MS, she was the daughter of Willie Wilson and Mary Ann Stevenson Kisner.
Melissa was known for her kindness, compassion, unwavering love for family and friends and her enthusiasm for all things chocolate. Her heart was as generous as her spirit, and she brought light to the lives of all who knew her. Her greatest accomplishment was her son, Bailey McLean; the one shining light in a life that had known more shadows than sun. From the moment Bailey came into her world, small and full of promise, everything changed. Every laugh, every scraped knee, every triumph, and every tear built a bond stronger than steel. She lived for Bailey, and in return, Bailey taught her the kind of love that outlasts time itself.
A retired paralegal, Melissa took great pride in her career, where she made many significant accomplishments. She was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail. Beyond her work, Melissa was an avid reader, always seeking knowledge and adventure through the pages of books. She also found joy in giving, with a natural talent for finding the perfect gift to make others feel special.
Melissa is proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, Doug and Louise Stevenson, paternal grandparents, Riley and Ruby Wilson, mother, Mary Ann Stevenson Kisner, special cousins, John Fayard and John St Amant, Jr. and Bailey’s father, Robert D. ‘Bob’ McLean IV, whose love and devotion left an indelible mark on the entire family.
Melissa is survived by her son, Bailey McLean, Godchild, Megan Price, father, Willie Wilson, sisters, Ann Beeker, Debbie (Jeff) Wiggins, Jan (Ernie) LeBatard, Michelle (James) Moore, and Shana (Anthony) Strong, nephews and nieces, Hunter, Jordan (Mark), Meredith, Evan, Landon, Lilly, Wyatt, and Drew, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and her very best friends, Tina Hughes, Margaret Flores and Connie Husley.
