Melba Sharon Pierce Furby, age 85, of the Lily Orchard Community, passed away on June 2, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Furby; her parents, Willie Otis Pierce and Mary Eloise Pierce; her siblings, Melvin Otis Pierce, Mary Frances Pierce Taylor, and Eddie Leon Pierce.
Survivors include her son, Michael Ray “Big Mike” Furby and his wife, Charlene; a grandson, Michael Ray “Lil Mike” Furby, Jr and his wife Katie; 4 great-grandchildren, Braydon, Hagen, Haizlee, and Laci (Timmy) Nichols; a great-great-grandchild, Timberlyn Nichols; a sister, Janice Pierce Purvis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Furby was born October 15, 1938, in Grand Bay, AL and was raised in church at Union Baptist Church and attended school in Mobile County Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Helena and was an active member of the Eastern Star where she received her 50 year member pin.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 10 – 11 am at The First Baptist Church of Helena. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Helena.
