Melanie A. Walker, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, gained her angel wings on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Memorial Hospital of Gulfport. Born on March 12, 1965, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Melanie was raised in Pass Christian and later resided in Long Beach. She brought joy to many lives during her time on Earth and was affectionately known as "Mel."
Melanie was her grandmother's first jewel. Her legacy is woven from threads of unconditional love, smiles, and the simple joys she shared with all who knew her. Throughout her life, she discovered happiness in flowers, coloring, bubble gum, jewelry, sunglasses, and moments spent with Tebow, her sister's beloved dog.
Melanie is survived by her parents, Glen and Sylvia Walker; her sisters, Dana (Gabriel) Ladner and Rachelle (Philip) Eubanks; her nephews, Adrian (Christi) Ladner, Brennan Ladner, Damian Ladner, Marcus (Nicole) Eubanks, and Christopher (Carene) Ladner; her Godmother, Thresia Dykes; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sylvester and Doris Necaise; her paternal grandparents, Vollen and Colean Walker; her Godfather, Vernon Ladner; her aunt, Fay Walker; her uncle, Jimmy Necaise; and her cousins, Jerred Necaise and Bobby Dykes, Jr.
In honoring Melanie's memory, family and friends are invited to gather for visitation and services on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 14595 Vidalia Rd, Pass Christian, MS.
Committed Service Update: due to the severe weather, the graveside service is rescheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 10th, at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
Mel will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (pre-addressed envelopes will be available at the visitation at the guest registry book).
