Gulfport

Melanie Kay Doyle, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, March 1, 2024, after bravely battling cancer for five years.

Born on August 17, 1974, in Pahala, Hawaii, Melanie, age 49, was the beloved daughter of the late Melvin Yokoyama Sr. and Winnifred Tamondong Yokoyama. She graduated from Kau High School in 1992 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Psychology from the University of Hawaii in 1997.

Following her graduation, Melanie relocated to San Diego, California, where she began her career at the Job Corps.

In 1999, while spending time with friends in San Diego, Melanie met her soulmate, Reginald C. Doyle. Their love blossomed, leading to their marriage on March 7, 2000. Together, they were blessed with a son, Gabriel Katsumi Lee Doyle. Due to Reggie’s military service, they made their home in Gulfport, MS.

Melanie served as the office manager and bookkeeper at Thomas London PCA, PC until her health declined. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was known for her gentle nature, love for her family, and deep appreciation for her Hawaiian heritage. She found joy in beach outings and had a special fondness for animals.

Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Yokoyama Sr., in December 2023.
