Mathilda Ashworth

Mathilda Earline Ashworth, age 51, of Saucier, passed away on January 1, 2020.

Mathilda was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of the Coast.  She graduated from Harrison Central High School in 1986 and was a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She was known for her sewing and crocheting and was most proud to be MeMe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell H Ashworth; step-son Russell H Stone; mother, Mildred Earline Reyer; her grandparents, Gidden and Mildred Staley and William Wallace and Cecilia W. Reyer; aunt, Joan Usry; her mother-in-law Lelia Morgan.

She is survived by her children, Malvina Cheeley, Melvin Cheeley, Angel Cheeley (Michael Price), and Gabriel Reyer; father, Robert Melvin Reyer; siblings, Robert W. Reyer, Delores Richardson (Louis), and  “P-nut” Joan Reyer; grandchildren, Serenity "Doll Baby" Pattison, Destiny "Turkey" Ratliff , Myleena "Love Bug" Price, Amelia Earline "Twigy" Cheeley, Ryleigh "Buttercup" Price, EmmaKate "Puddin’ Pop" Gregory, and  Bryan P. "Little Man" Ratliff, Ophelia "MeMe’s Heart" Reyer ; niece, Dell Ratliff (Bryan) and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 6-8 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, in the funeral home chapel at 10 am.  Burial will be in First Free Church of God Cemetery.
