Mary Erlene Vinson Thompson, 58, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 in Gulfport.
Mary was born December 21, 1958 in Troy, Alabama to Jimmy and Olene Vinson. She was a long-time resident of Gulfport where she had worked as the head groundskeeper at USM, Gulf Park and as a bartender at the Alibi Lounge in Long Beach. Mary loved flowers and spending time planting and gardening.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Curtis Vinson and her sister, Elizabeth Vinson Peacock.
Survivors include her mother, Olene Vinson; her daughter, Deva Craig (Alex); her son, David Jimmerson (Jessica); her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Lilly Jimmerson, David Jimmerson, Mikayla Craig, Jada Craig and Marcus Craig; her siblings, Tommy Curtis Vinson (Glenda), Randol Eugene Vinson, Danny Vinson (Donna), Sylvia Jo Vinson Brown (Randy) and Maggie Escher Vinson Doster; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
