Mary Louise Sokol Sheldon KILN- Mary, 69, passed away peacefully after a yearlong battle with melanoma cancer, on October 5, 2017. Mary Louise Schlesman was born in Pottstown, PA to Leo DeWillis Schlesman and Edna Mae Felix on December 8, 1947.
Mary lived a full and blessed life. Within days before she passed she stated, "I have no cancer. I am healed by his blood."
She married early in life and dedicated herself to raising her children and caring for her family. After her children pursued lives on their own, she went to college to get her degree and became a registered nurse having a full second career for over 15 years. After retiring from nursing, she continued to care for and witness to others by volunteering at the Save-A-Life Center (pregnancy support) and counseling at Pearl River County Jail. While retired, her life of leisure was filled with travel and adventures.
For Mary her love of Christ, family and friends always came first. She treated all people with kindness, genuine caring and love; an example to all who knew her. Her laugh was infectious and she was always ready to help others in need; content in the joy of giving.
Survivors include her husband of 2 years, Donald Sheldon; sons Willy (Chrissy) and Kenny (Julie); daughter, Tina (Nick); mother-in-law (first marriage), Helen; brother, Robert and sister Diane; Grandsons, Drew, Justin, Josiah, Ryan, Luke, Gabriel and Benjamin; Granddaughters Emily and Madelyn. Mary was pre-deceased by her first husband of 50 years Willard Sokol, Jr. and grandson Miklos Major III.
A celebration of her life service will be held at a future date at GRACE CHAPEL.
