Mary Lynn Myers, age 74, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and cherished memories.

Born on October 6, 1951, Mary was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She graduated from Long Beach Senior High School in 1969 and later attended the American Beauty College in Gulfport, Mississippi. Following her passion for cosmetology, she opened her own salon, House of Styles, which she proudly owned and operated for more than 20 years. Through her work, Mary built lasting friendships and became a familiar and beloved presence in her community.

After closing her salon, Mary began a second career in the gaming industry, working with the President Casino and later transferring to the Grand Casino. Following Hurricane Katrina, she assisted with the opening of the Island View Casino, where she continued to make lasting connections and friendships.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Howard F. Platts and Christine Platts of Long Beach, Mississippi; her daughter, Wendy Platts Figer of Biloxi, Mississippi; and her beloved grandsons, Matthew Gill Shaw and Andrue B. Fain.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Heather Fain (Anthony Shook); her grandchildren, Gabbie Roch (Ryan Roch) and Luke Shaw; her son-in-law, Richard Figer; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Cheverly and Charlotte. She also leaves behind her sisters, Barbara Lainer (Wayne) and Rebecca Shaw (Robert); her nieces, Emma Ward (David) and Rachel Walker (Shane); as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly. She is also survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Edwin Myers, and his wife, Cynthia Myers.

While Mary lived a modest life, she was loved by many. Her smile was contagious, and her laughter could light up any room. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. A devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In accordance with Mary's wishes a private, family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
