Mary Louise Minchew

Mary Louise Minchew, age 98 of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

She was a native of Gulfport, but relocated to Biloxi after Hurricane Katrina. Mary graduated from St. John High School, class of 1946.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David Minchew; her parents, Lawrence and Mary Phillips; and her infant daughter.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Minchew, David (Cheryl) Minchew, and Linda (John) Mosgrove; her granddaughter, Mary Mosgrove; her great granddaughter, Evelyn Grace Bastoe; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mary was well known for her creamy coconut cakes, her possum pies, and her chess bars.

She loved painting, arts and crafts, and crocheting. Mary made and donated many baby blankets and hats to the NICU at Memorial Hospital. She was also on the Altar Society of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Alison Wall, Fr. Henry, Fr. Max, and Deaconess Hospice.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
