Mary Gottlich Holliman Von Kampen, age 90, formerly of Long Beach and a resident of Perkinston, MS, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. Ms. Mary was born November 2, 1926 in Gulfport, MS to Frank H. and Willie Williams Gottlich.
Ms. Mary spent her summers after retirement in Ontario, Canada where she pursued her love of gardening, reading, traveling and hiking the National and State forests and exploring caves in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
Ms. Mary attended Orange Grove School, Jeff Davis Junior College and the Holiday Inn University. She was a certified Food and Beverage Director, retiring from the Holiday Inn Beachfront in 1994. She was of the Protestant faith and attended Bond United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her five children, Carlos Robert Meador, Jr. (Jo Ann) of Perkinston, Louise Meador Guerin (Tony) of Long Beach, Lena Holliman Byrd (Stanley, Jr.) of Gulfport, Ms. George V. Holliman Jr. (Marion) of Perkinston, and Mary Holliman Scott (Richard, Sr.) of Long Beach; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lou Gottlich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Massippi Radau, Louise Stidham and Doles Robinson; brothers, Hugo Gottlich and Joseph Gottlich; grandson, Damon Byrd; a husband, Carlos Meador, Sr.; her former husbands, George Holliman, Sr. and Donald Von Kampen; and her companion Arnold Lloyd.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 beginning at 1:00 p.m., until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com
