Mary Ellen Jones

Mary Ellen Jones of Biloxi went to be with her Heavenly Father. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 11, 2015, after a valiant fight following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 5, 1928, in Houston, Texas.
She was a kind and loving mother and friend who loved traveling, baking, and her social organizations, including TOPS #5 and Red Hats. She was a former member of Handsboro Eastern Star and a current member of the Perkinston Chapter #376. She was a current and faithful member of Coalville United Methodist Church. She served as a volunteer for both Memorial Hospital and Garden Park Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Oliver; her sister, Nancy Russell; her grandson, Ian Therrien, and her previous husbands, Robert T. Martinez and Lesley W. Jones.
She will be deeply missed by her six daughters, Patti (Fred) Lowery, Mary (Mark) Isham, Susan (John) Gates, Kathy (Jim) Rouse, Carolyn Tyler, and Leslie Berry; her sisters, Elizabeth (Dick) Sheppard and Jane Windemiller; her 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and her closest lifelong friends, Dorothy Tinsler and Jane Deyo.
The family is so very grateful for the loving care received by Joyce Saucier, Lynn Stephenson, Betty Hart, Glaudette Williams, and her nurse, Juliet with Hospice Compassus.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in her honor, can be made to either the Perkinston Chapter of the Eastern Star, 975 Bluff Ridge Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532, or to Coalville United Methodist Church, 12298 Shorecrest Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Coalville United Methodist Church, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
