Mary Jo Johnson

Mary Jo Dearman Johnson, 85, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Mary Jo was born to Floyd and Inez Bond and spent her life devoted to her family and those she loved. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Dearman, Sr. and Paul Johnson; her parents, Floyd and Inez Bond; her daughter, Janice Dearman; her son, Ottis Dearman; her brother, Rayford Bond; and her grandson, Timothy Dearman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Jimmy Dearman and his wife, Andrie, of Perkinston, Robin Dearman and his wife, Kristi, of Perkinston, and Matthew Johnson of Gulfport; her brother, Freddie Bond; her sister, Sarah Batte; her daughter in law, Amber Dearman; her grandchildren, Andrew Dearman, Ashlyn Dearman, Aaron Dearman, and Brittany Dearman Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Kenneth Dearman, Leilah Dearman, Aubree Smith, Austyn Smith, and Littleton Smith, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service honoring Mary Jo's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport, Mississippi.
