Mary Helen Allen, born in Pass Christian, MS, on Feb 3rd, 1943 to Lula and Avery Allen, Sr, departed this life on December 7, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. She was a native of Pass Chrisitan and attended Pass Christian High School where she graduated in 1961.
Mary Helen spent most of her professional career at Hancock Bank, where she completed the Graduate School of Banking. She held various positions in the bank including training coordinator. Mary retired in 1998 at the age of 55 as a Vice President.
She also owned several small businesses.
Outside of her career, Mary Helen enjoyed life’s pleasures. She was an avid golfer and fisherman, especially relishing her time at the Fort Morgan Beach House. In her younger years, she was active in sports, particularly basketball and softball, and remained a devoted sports fan throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother, Avery Allen Jr.and her sister-in-law, Yvonne Allen, her nephew Bobby Allen and his wife Betty Allen.
She is survived by long-time friend Genevieve "Geno" Flechas; nieces Carolyn Collier (Derrick), Margaret Ladnier (Sam), and Janet Ryan (Mike); nephews Willie Allen (Melanie) and Jimmy Allen; along with ten great nieces, five great nephews, fourteen great-great nieces, three great-great-nephews, two great-great-great nieces, and one great-great-great nephew.
Mary Helen was a beloved part of all of our lives and some of our best memories. She was a surrogate grandmother to our children and was there for us in many ways through the years. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on December 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 22342 Evangeline Rd, Pass Christian, MS. A Mass will follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place at Old Delisle Cemetery at 12:30 PM, located at 25337 Notre Dame Ave, Pass Christian, MS.
