Mary H. Morgan, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at her home in Saucier, Mississippi.

Mary was a native of Delhi, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Saucier. She attended Louisiana Tech and dedicated 29 years of service to the Harrison County School System at Saucier Elementary School. Throughout her career, she worked as a librarian, physical education teacher, and teacher’s aide, taking great joy in enriching the lives of many students and families. 

Throughout the years, Mary was a member of Saucier United Methodist Church and she also cherished her time spent at the Palmer Creek Methodist CampMeeting. Her faith in and her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was a cornerstone of her life. 

Family meant everything to Mary, and she always found a way to bring everyone together. Her home was constantly filled with loud laughter, a big pot roast, and plenty of popsicles. When she wasn't hosting, you could find her enjoying her favorite things: gardening, birdwatching, reading, or playing cards. She had a beautiful gift for listening and lifting your spirits, and she was happiest simply sitting down to talk and connect over a fresh cup of coffee. 

Mary was a loving wife, great mother, and nanny.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Morgan; her parents, Mike and Stella Vining; her siblings, Dixie Vining Harrison, Dorothy V. Clark, Robert R. Vining, Harry Gene Vining, and Mitchell Vining; her mother-in-law, Gladys O’Neal Morgan; her sister-in laws, Anne Morgan Hoffmann and Marilyn (Bill) Holt; and her brothers-in-law, Sidney “Sam” Harrison, Monroe H. Ferrell, Ray Ferrell, Dennis Ferrell, and Glenn E. Clark. She is survived by her children, Sheila Weekley, Margaret Morgan, Beverly Morgan O’Connell (Larry), and John Morgan; her siblings, Joy Vining Ferrell and Mike Vining (Sammie); sisters-in-law, Karen Vining and Leona Vining; brother-in-law, James Hoffmann, and Robert Morgan (Carla); grandchildren, Shannon (Dewey) Reddoch, Amie (Wesley) Farmer, Daniel (Erin) DeCelle, Ryan (Krista) DeCelle, Nathan Ladner (Britneye), Nicholas Bumpass (Alex), Alex Morgan, Derrick Mount (Leighton), Dillon Morgan (Haley), Colt O’Connell, Hannah O’Connell, and Luke O’Connell ; and great-grandchildren, Dawysn Parker, Wyatt Reddoch, Layne Reddoch, Gracie Reddoch, Remi Reddoch, Amiyah Farmer, Scarlett Farmer, Malachi Farmer, Braydin DeCelle, Danny DeCelle, Cal DeCelle, Kaley DeCelle, Kaylin DeCelle, Adalyn DeCelle, Christian Ladner, Kylan Ladner, Carter Ladner, Michael Morgan, and Emmy Ray Mount. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Amy Duda, Donna Scharman, Lori Coverick, Heidi Jorgensen, and Eddie Skinner; numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends; and her beloved dog, “Diesel.” 

Diesel was her companion for 15 years and protected and loved his mom unconditionally. He never left her side, nor did she leave his. They were “two peas in a pod,” and their love was heartfelt.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Mary's caregivers who became angels to her and loved her like she was their own mother, and whom she loved dearly. Special thanks go to Linda Palode, Salina Turan, Janice Turpin, Marci Thompson, and others who were described by the family as “our rock.” The family also remembers her early caregivers, Bobby Taylor and LaRhonda Walker, as well as her special friend, Heather. Appreciation is also extended to her hospice caregivers, Vanessa and nurse Belinda.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the family gatherings she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
