Mary Kathrine Green, age 87, of Gulfport, born on April 8, 1929, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on October 27, 2016 in Baytown, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry 'Hank' Green; her parents, Brownie and Lillian Ladner of Rocky Hill; and three brothers, Chester Ladner, J.T. Ladner, and Lamar Ladner.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry Green and his wife, Kathryn of Houston, TX and Ricky Green and his wife Rondo of Baytown, TX; her sisters, Yvonne Killegrew of Long Beach, Jean Necaise and her husband, Lugis JR Necaise of White Cypress; her brother, Theron Ladner and his wife, Debbie of Rocky Hill; her grandchildren, Katherine Poncik and her husband Ryne and Austin Green of Houston, TX, and Richard, Rachel, and Rebecca Green of Baytown, TX; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Mary was born in Barth, MS, north of Kiln, on April 8, 1929. She graduated from Kiln High School where she was a member of the ladies basketball team. A longtime resident of Gulfport, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gulfport Jaycees. Mary along with her husband, Hank, was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport where she served on numerous committees and boards.
Mary was a precious soul. She was a friend to many who will miss her and her famous gumbo, bread pudding, and ""snowball"" cake. She loved to dance, especially the Waltz. Mary had exceptional imagination skills that her grandchildren have adopted. She loved God and shared his word with all. Mary walked the walk and talked the talk. She will be remembered with much love and wonderful memories. She had a beautiful smile and all were always welcome in her home. May she rest in peace.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, downtown Gulfport. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
