Mary Adele Poole Glancey passed away April 1, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She recently returned home to the Gulf Coast after 30 years of service with the Veterans Affairs Hospital System. Her love for the wounded warrior enabled her to provide care to many over the 10 years at the Biloxi VA and 20 years at the San Antonio VA. In addition to her love for the wounded warrior, her unconditional love for her family was beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sean Thomas Glancey; her twin granddaughters, Mary Marguerite and Alyssa Paige Collier; parents, Thomas Portis Poole and Marguerite Euper Poole; and sister, Patricia Spurlock and her husband Benjamin.
Survivors include her children, Karen Todd (Phil), Stephanie Adamavich, Retired Lt. Col. Donna Schutzius (Marvin), Erin Anker (Tom), Mary Katherine Shirley (Russel), Commander Kevin Glancey, USN (Krissy), Kelly Collier (Kevin); brother, Thomas Joseph Poole (Bernie); sisters, Lynn Cerami (John), and Peggy Poole; twenty grandchildren, Annie Todd, Lizzie Todd, Josh Magee, Ryan Moody, Rachel Adamavich, Stephanie Frank, Teal Schutzius, Jeremiah Schutzius, Tre' Barry, Mary Anker, Austin Anker, Tyler Anker, Thomas Shirley, Mary Shirley, Michael Glancey, Erin Glancey, Shannon Glancey, Stephanie Nicole' Harrison, Jennifer Erin Collier, and Alyssa Shaunn Collier; nine great grandchildren, Aly, Colton, Ava, Piper, Riley, Will, Parker, Leyton Ann, and Peighton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport and St. Joseph's Hospice for their care and support over the past 6 months.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach, MS.
