Mary Alice Cockrell

Mary Alice Cockrell, age 87, of Long Beach, passed away on July 15, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lillian Allen; three sisters, Doris E. Dwyer, Susie E. Neathree, and Nona Lee Allen; a brother, Nathan Robert Allen; a granddaughter, Jennifer J. Bush; and a great granddaughter, Eva Gretchen Bush.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James T. Cockrell of Long Beach; her seven children, David (Laura) Sykes, Benny (Judy) Sykes, William (Charlotte) Sykes, Jerry (Darlene) Sykes, Patricia (Jim) Skinner, John (Jane) Cockrell, and Farrell (Joan) Cockrell, all of the Gulf Coast; her siblings, Buddy Allen, Freddie (Janis) Allen, Myra Morris, Kate Kilpatrick, Emily (John) Smith, and Agnes Durel.
She loved camping and enjoyed many trips to the mountains, her special place being Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn, Georgia. She was a loving wife to the love of her life, her husband, a loving and caring mother, and grandmother. She was a lifetime and faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Long Beach.
There will be a visitation on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach, MS. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery.
