Mary Catherine Blanchard, age 76, born on July 24, 1936, in Collins, MS, went to be with Jesus on April 27, 2013, at her home in Gulfport while surrounded by her loving family .
She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Magee and Annie Mae Courson; her sisters, Bobbie Saucier and Johnnie Herrington.
Mrs. Blanchard is survived by her husband, Wesley Blanchard; her brother, Claude Magee and her sister, Faye Pruitt both of Magee, MS; her children, Debbie (Mickey) Anderson, Steve (Jennifer) Lanier, Jan Lanier, Cindy (Lew) Wallace, Debbie Wise, Valerie Ischi, and Phillip (Toni) Blanchard; 10 grandchildren, Mickey Anderson, Jr., Lisa Davis, Selina Lanier, Caylie Lanier, Taylor Wallace, Michael French, Melissa Cue, Pillip Ischi, Whitney Ischi, and Breanna Blanchard; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She received many Voluntary Service Awards through the VFW, was VFW Chaplin, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Blanchard loved to help raise money for Cerebral Palsy Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research and numerous people in need. She also owned the Seafood Depot (AKA The Red Barn) on Landon Road in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 11:00am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit from 9:30am until service time. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
