Mary Aline Hoda

Mary Aline Bermond Hoda, age 92, of Kiln, passed away on April 21, 2025, in Diamondhead, MS.

Mrs. Hoda was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Vincent Hoda, Sr; a son, Dewey Vincent “Bubby” Hoda, Jr; a grandson, Brian “BB” Hoda; her parents, Leo A. Bermond, Sr and Zadie Kenmar Bermond; her siblings, Joseph M. Bermond, Vernon L. Bermond, Charles Donald Bermond, Leo A. Bermond, Jr, Kenneth S. Bermond, Raymond R. Bermond, Phillip Bermond, and Martin C. Bermond.

She is survived by her sons, Martin Hoda (Kateri), Gene Hoda (Joye), Wayne Hoda, Michael Hoda, and Quentin Hoda; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Breaux Hoda Tomasich; a brother, James “Jimmy” Bermond; a sister, Susan Bermond Barbetta; her grandchildren, Mark, Vince, Matt, Nicole, Ryan, Amanda, Martin, Ethan, Kayleigh, Ashleigh, and Alyssa; her great-grandchildren, Bailey, McKaylin, Branson, Liam, Harrison, Rylan, Grayson, Victoria, Maverick, Beckham, Emma, Hazel, Walker, Tripp, Brayson, Wesley, and Ty; and a great-great-grandchild, Braize; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hoda was a native of Bay St. Louis and was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. She was a devoted member of Annunciation Catholic Church and worked as a housekeeper under Fr. Austin and Fr. Henry. Mrs. Hoda was also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will forever be cherished by her family for her love and wisdom. She enjoyed reading and playing bunco.

She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church where she was a member of the KC Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 9 – 11 am at Annunciation Catholic Church, 5370 Kiln DeLisle Rd, Kiln, MS 39556. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery @ Rotten Bayou.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Annunciation Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Woodland Village and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their care and concern of Mrs. Hoda.
