Martha McCutchon Grant, age 94, passed away, January 19, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born March 7, 1921 in New Orleans to Frances Pardue McCutchon and Azby Destrehan McCutchon, both of New Orleans.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Gordon Grant; and her sisters, Mary Sherman Swindle and Frances Barber.
She is survived by her son, Arthur Gordon Grant, Jr. (Charisse); and daughters, Judith Woodley (Charles) and Elaine Wilkinson (James); six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She and Arthur, both native New Orleanians, called Pass Christian, Mississippi their second home until 1994 when they moved permanently to the coast. Mama, as she was known to her grandchildren, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Our sincere gratitude goes to the staff, nurses and caregivers of Chateau de Notre Dame in New Orleans for the constant love and care they showed her during her final years.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Paul Chapel, 140 East Beach, Pass Christian, on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
