Martha N. Farish, age 85 of Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017, at Merit Hospital, Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Kate Norsworthy; and her husband of 63 years, Robert E. Farish, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda F. Glaze of Oxford, MS; her sons, David Farish and Jerry Farish of Biloxi, MS; and her brother, Robert Norsworthy, Jr. of Jackson, MS. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Farish was born in Jackson, MS, and was a graduate of Central High School. She was active in her church where she sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Rainbow Girls Organization. She married Robert shortly before he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. During their 20 years of service they were stationed at bases in Japan, Germany, and at 8 different bases in the United States, and in 1967, she was the sole caregiver to her family while Robert served his nation as a combat pilot in the Vietnam conflict.
After their service years, Martha completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Mississippi and they relocated to Biloxi, MS, where they both became business owners. Martha began a career as a real estate agent and eventually formed her own firm along with her two sons. She was active in the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Board of Realtors where she was recognized many times for her accomplishments. She will be remembered by her many friends and co-workers in the real estate business. She and Robert lived a comfortable life in retirement in their home on Sunkist Golf Course in Biloxi. She had a lifelong love of playing golf and enjoyed watching golf on weekends with her husband.
Her family would like to express appreciation for the kind and respectful care provided by Biloxi Internal Medicine, The Pillars Rehabilitation Center, Kindred Hospice, and Merit Hospital.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvior Rd., Biloxi, from 8 a.m. until the service begins at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow the service at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
