Martha Estes

Martha Anne Bishop Estes of Gulfport passed peacefully to her eternal home at the age of 89 on Friday, December 29, 2017.
Martha Anne was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Pascagoula High School and attended Millsaps College. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women with a home economics degree. She was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport and joined Trinity United Methodist Church in 2012.
She and her husband enjoyed many years of fishing and traveling. Gardening was a favorite hobby, her daisies being treasured by her family and friends. She was a member of Green Thumb Garden Club and former member of the Gulfport Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary, Gulfport Junior Woman's Club, Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport and Merry Maskers. She served on the Jones Park Restoration Committee for the City of Gulfport. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Albert Bishop and Rina Elizabeth Park Bishop; her brother, James Albert Bishop, Jr.; and her husband of sixty years, George E. Estes, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, George E. Estes, III (Debbie), and Jimmy Estes (Lynn); her grandchildren, David Bishop Estes (Nicole), Sarah Estes Rollins (John), Leslie Estes Shavers (John Michael) and Kelley Estes Winstead (Keith); and her great-grandchildren, Sophie and Will Rollins, Maggie and Andrew Estes, Anna Kelley and Ansley Shavers and Olivia Winstead.
The family thanks Seashore Highlands - Methodist Senior Services, Kare-In-Home and St. Joseph Hospice.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3 at 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, Mississippi.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
