~~Marjorie Emma McClendon Kusser, age 91, of Diamondhead, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
Marge was born in Alexandria, LA to George Sleet and Sara Russ McClendon. She retired form Century 21 of Diamondhead as a realtor and enjoyed dancing and playing video poker. She was an avid reader, competed in Backgammon, and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Marge loved entertaining and socializing and had been a member of many clubs (garden, bridge) and leagues (golf, bowling) over the years. For many years, she volunteered for Family and Children's services in Akron, OH, assisting with placing babies in foster care. She will be remembered as a fun-loving person who enjoyed life to its fullest.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Smith; her second husband, Robert Kusser; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Jack W. Smith, Jr., James N. Smith (Donna), Alan M. Smith (Cindy), and Beverly Hunt (Shawn); siblings, Nell Brown, Lloyd McClendon, and Glenn McClendon; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Tom Watson.
She will be laid to rest in Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX, at a later date.
