Mariellen Germaine Riccardo

Ms. Mariellen Ricciardo, age 75, of Long Beach, MS, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, in Gulfport.
Ms. Riccardo was born in New York, NY and was a resident of Long Beach, MS since 1965. She was long removed from New York, but often spoke of her beloved Yankees and other memories of growing up there. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that dedicated all of her heart to her family. She spent many years working at the Broadwater Golf Course and more recently Veterans Realty. Throughout her life, she cherished time with her family, especially at Christmas and Mardi Gras. She was the life of the party.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Louis Ricciardo and Ms. Virginia DeFreitas.
Ms. Ricciardo is survived by her children, Ginny Miner and her husband Larry, Dwain Savner and his wife Marcia, Drew Savner and his wife Jan, and Gerald Savner and his wife Mary, all of Long Beach, MS.
Other survivors include her grandchildren Sean (Amanda Lang) Varone, Shayne Varone, Desiree Savner, Carrie (Kyle) Dunavant, Matthew Savner, Shaunna (Robert) McCormick, Christopher Savner, and Mallory Savner; and her great-grandchildren Ethan Ladner, Hayden Varone, Amberly Varone, Ana Lang, Amelia Varone, Isaack Whittacker, Cameran Savner, Samantha Varone, Julia Varone, Landon Dunavant, and Lillia Savner.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday, December 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach, MS, with a visitation prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A private interment will immediately follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Pass Christian, MS.
