Maribeth Lee Thornton, age 58, of Saucier, Mississippi, entered into eternal rest on October 4, 2025.
Beth was born in Harvey, Louisiana, and made her home in Saucier, Mississippi, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and smiles. She worked for over 30 years in the auto parts industry, where her hard work, knowledge, and friendly nature earned her the respect of both coworkers and customers alike.
Beth had a passion for life that shined through everything she did. Dancing was her favorite and dressing up for Halloween (her birthday) was a close second. She had a love for hot rods and the thrill of a good burnout, but she also had a warm, creative side finding joy in baking, decorating, and crafting. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and cherished every moment with.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Bush Oubre and Felix Alvin Oubre, Jr.
Beth is survived by her devoted husband, James Thornton; her children, Steven Twinn Jr. (Laura), Christopher Mullett (Kelsey), and Lee Anne Wernecke (Jason); her sisters, Mischelene Oubre and Maureen Oubre; and her mother, Myrl Rauschkolb. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family who will miss her dearly.
Beth will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her creativity, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy of strength, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She made pain look beautiful
She found peace among the chaos
She wore a smile in situations where most would cry
She held the weight of the world on her shoulders
And never complained
She’s the one with the angel eyes
Ready to raise hell for those who take her lightly
She’s the flower with thorns
That have since made her untouchable
She’s the queen with warrior in her blood
“And that’s it, smile luv ya!”
Services will be private.
