Marian Couch

Marian C. Couch, age 84, of Auburn, WA, passed away on November 22, 2023, in Diamondhead, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Leonard C. Couch.

Mrs. Couch is survived by her 2 children, Douglas B. barrows (Yvette M. Barrows) and Daniel C. Barrows (Myra M. Barrows); a sister, Phyliss Carlson; 6 grandchildren, Derek J. Barrows (Brianna), Donavan E. Barrows (Katerina), Dustin W. Barrows, Shailee D. Nelson, Laura Barrows, and Jacob M. Barrows; 3 great-grandchildren, Kalianna M. Barrows, Darren Barrows, and Brielle Barrows; and other relatives and friends.

She was a native of Oregon and had been a long time resident of Auburn, WA before moving to the Gulf Coast.  She was a 1957 graduate of Milwaukee High School.  She was employed for 19 years with the First National Bank of Oregon and then she was employed for 20 years with the Defense Contract Audit Agency.

Mrs. Couch was an active member in the Methodist Church where she volunteered in Women’s ministry, worked and supervised the church kitchen, and she worked and taught in the Church Summer Camp.  She was a PTA member, Boy Scout Mom, Little League Score Keeper, and managed the Snack Shack for the Montavilla Little League.  She attended every sports event her family was involved in until her health prevented it.  She cheered her family on in football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, and Judo and she continued to cheer her grandkids on in the same way. 

Mrs. Couch was always there for her family from babysitting to helping in the classroom to comforting them and always treating them as if they were the most important thing in the world.  It is now her time to rest.  Marian passed away with her family at her bedside.  She will be missed. 

Interment will be in Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
