Maria Delos Santos, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in the Philippines but later settled in Gulfport, where she graduated from Gulfport High School and continued her education at St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Following her academic achievements, Maria embarked on a diverse and successful career journey. She began in retail, then the fast-paced hotel industry, later transitioned into real estate, and ultimately returned to her roots in retail and hospitality. She found great fulfillment in her work, where her gentle spirit and the love she had for all her coworkers and customers was evident the moment she said "Hello".
Her life was a quiet testament to her creative spirit - not only was she a talented singer and piano player, she was also an enthusiastic cook who loved perfecting her special recipes and serving it to those closest to her. An avid gardener, she spent many peaceful hours tending to her beloved flowers and finding comfort in the quiet of nature.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Napoleon and Edita Delos Santos. Maria's memory will be cherished by her devoted family. She is survived by her siblings: Edgar (Maria) Delos Santos, Marie Anne (Jay) Schroeder, Noel (Christy) Delos Santos, and Napoleon Delos Santos. She also leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter for her many nieces and nephews: Marissa (Harrison) Shuerman, Katie (Bryan) Chapman, Erin (Cole) Newman, Noel (Abbey) Schroeder, Destin (Laken) Schroeder, Elliott Delos Santos, Nicholas Delos Santos, Miles Delos Santos, Maddox Delos Santos, Skye Delos Santos, Charlotte Chapman, Dean Christopher Newman, Shepherd Schroeder, Mary Scott Newman, and James Chapman.
Our family would like to personally thank all the doctors, nurses and aides who took great care of her, especially Dr. Olivia Hightower. She had great respect and admiration for each one of you.
