Margie C. Dill

April 15, 1926 — July 11, 2014

Margie Dill, age 88, died on Friday July 11, 2014 at her home in Ocean Springs MS. She was born Margie Frances Crouch on April 15, 1926 in Laurel MS and was adopted by Adrian and Imogene Mulholland Crouch of Cleveland MS. Margie graduated from high school in Cleveland and attended Wood Junior College for one year. She aspired to be an architect but was unable to complete a course of study due to a lack of faculty during WW II. While working as a store clerk, she met her future husband Rudolph Dill who had recently completed service in the Pacific. The two were married 64 years until Rudolph's death in 2010. During that time, Margie stayed busy as a military wife, a mother of 5 children, and a realtor. The family lived in Biloxi, Vicksburg, and Jackson MS.
When they retired, Margie and Rudolph moved back to the coast and immediately felt like they had returned home. She devoted her time to maintaining an award winning yard and traveling to national and international destinations. With other women in her family, Margie enjoyed numerous ""girl trips"" that took them to Alaska, Finland, Russia, the Caribbean, and many European countries. She was a lifelong learner who stayed sharp as an avid reader, puzzle solver, and poker player. She was a talented seamstress and home decorator. What many people remember most about Margie was her delightful sense of humor.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her first son Michael Lynn Dill. She is survived by her children Adrianne Dill Linton (Ken), Gary Dill (Susan), Ron Dill (Maria), and Barry Dill; her sister Gene Jones (Charles); 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family would like to recognize the ladies who provided care in our home during recent years including Joanie, Laura, Clem, Brandi and Renie. We are grateful for the compassionate care provided by the nursing staff of Gentiva Hospice, Greenbriar Nursing Center, and Camellia Home Health during Margie's last days. The support of Gentiva Hospice allowed her to spend that time surrounded by family in her own home. All expressions of sympathy are appreciated. Friends who wish to do so may contribute to the Humane Society, Special Olympics, or other service organizations.
