Margareta Nagel Dodge, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013, in Poplarville after a long illness.
She was born November 4, 1928 in Oberursel, West Germany to Karl and Elisabeth Marten Nagel. She worked for several years at the Gulfport Naval Seabee Base Exchange. Margareta has now been reunited to her beloved husband and best friend of 58 years, Orvis I. Dodge in heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Cushman and husband Barry of Solon, ME, Diana Williams and husband Richard of Carriere, MS, 4 grandchildren, Shawn Cushman and wife Leah of Warrensburg, MO, Tanja Adam and husband Jeff, Minot, ND, Tiffany Chachati and husband Clint of Donaldsonville, LA, and Rachel Daughtry of Bay St. Louis, 5 great-grandchildren, Baylee Cushman, Taylor Cushman, Devyn Cushman, Kyle Williams, and Olivia Chachati, and 1 sister, Elli Dinger of Stierstardt, West Germany. There is also a great-granddaughter, Brianna Gunton waiting for her in heaven.
Margareta was a wonderful wife, mom, Oma, and friend, and will always be loved and missed. Mrs. Dodge has been a resident for the past 8 months at the Pearl River County Nursing Home and Hospital. The family would like to thank the entire staff for their devoted and loving care their mother received.
