Margaret Katherine Reuter, age 59 and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Gulfport.
Margaret was born on March 10, 1949 in Bogalusa, LA. She graduated from high school in Lakenheath AB, England and attended business school in Charleston, SC. Margaret worked in administration at Highland Avenue Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She volunteered for the Lutheran Braille Workers for 25 years. She also did volunteer work for the Red Cross. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Gulfport. She was an avid collector of dolls, spoons, stamps, and postcards. She was also an excellent housekeeper and helped her mother with cooking.
Margaret is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Hans Reuter of Birmingham, AL and Rev. and Mrs. Earl P. Knobloch of Gulfport.
She is survived by her parents, Chalmers and Myrtus Reuter of Gulfport; her brothers, Earl Reuter of Gulfport and Robert (Bonnie) Reuter of Varnville, SC; her niece, Alisaun and her husband Russ, of St. Pauley's Island, SC and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 3:00pm at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1301 31st Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
