Margaret Ann Hatem Necaise

Margaret Ann Hatem Necaise, age 82, of Long Beach, passed away on June 29, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Hatem and Marguerite Ladnier Hatem; a sister, Mary Jane Hatem; and a granddaughter, Lauren Bridgette Lankford.

Ms. Necaise is survived by her children, Donna Lankford (Jarvis), Diane Desporte (Kenny), and Deena Kuntz (Wayne); a sister, Phyllis Seal; her grandchildren, Lindsay Lankford (Anna Laura), Grant Lankford (Chelsea), Kendall Desporte, Kennedy Kuntz, and Kourtland Desporte; 3 great-grandchildren, Nolen Lankford, Graham Steckler, and Thomas Steckler; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is a native, as well as a life-long resident of Long Beach, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Phillips College, as well as attending St. Joseph’s Academy and St. Thomas Elementary.

Margaret started her career as a wedding caterer along the Gulf Coast. That career led her to open and operate the House of Brides and Fashions both in Gulfport and Biloxi, MS from 1976 to 1987. Margaret had a unique talent for taking a basic dress and creating a unique prom, queens or bridal gown. Margaret ended her career working for Nestle, Inc.

Margaret Ann was a lifelong member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach; the St. Thomas PTA and served as the local Brownie troop leader. Margaret was also a lifelong member of the Carnival Association of Long Beach, serving as Queen Rosalie 1967.

She was heard routinely saying that her children were her greatest accomplishment and her grandchildren were her greatest Blessings.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rishi Roy, the staff at Pascagoula Hospital, Encompass Rehab Center, Gulfport: Dunbar Village, Bay St. Louis and Vital Caring Hospice, Gulf Coast, and the family and friends that have helped with her caretaking.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, an organization dedicated to assisting those in need, in and around the community. St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 712 E. Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 10 - 11:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.

The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is honored to serve the family.
