Margaret Maxey, age 81, of Long Beach, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Maxey was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach where she played the organ and piano. She worked in the financial industry for most of her life and enjoyed her time as a loan officer. She was an avid Denver Broncos fan while living in Denver and then converted to an avid Saints fan upon returning to the Coast.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Maxey; a son, David Maxey; nine brothers and sisters; and her parents, Salvatore and Jennie Lopresto.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Roz) Maxey of Long Beach and Stephen Maxey; her brother, Frank (Minnie) Lopresto of Long Beach; and her grandchildren, Erica Rohde, Nicholas Rohde, and Rachelle Maxey.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507 or Canon Hospice, 1520 Broad Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
