Margaret "Margie" Lanning

Margaret (Margie) Lanning, 94, passed away on January 23, 2016, in Gulfport.
She was born in Hammond, LA to Simon and Nellie Ware on November 16, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. W. (Pete) Lanning; two sons, Russell Lanning and Lester Lanning.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie McClendon and Patti Bosarge; seven grandchildren, Scott McClendon, Stevie McClendon, Neil Lanning, Amy Cooper, Dena Hickman, April Peleaz, and Raven Devilbliss; eight great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Lyman and was a retired substitute school teacher for Harrison Central High School where she touched countless students' lives with her sweet gentle manner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 3:00pm with visitation from 1:15pm until service time at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lyman, 14321 Old Highway 49, Gulfport, MS 39503.
