Margaret Grammer Gay, a devoted public servant and beloved member of her community, passed away on October 25, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 68. Born on May 26, 1957, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Margaret was a nurturing presence in the lives of her family and friends, known for her warmth and generosity.

Margaret's distinguished career as the Chief Deputy Clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico exemplified her commitment to the service of others. She had a profound impact on many throughout her career. In 2020, she retired to The Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband, Remo Gay, where she embraced the beauty of her new surroundings.

A proud graduate, Margaret held Bachelor's and Master's of Business Degrees from The University of New Mexico, a testament to her early commitment to education and lifelong learning.

Outside her professional achievements, Margaret engaged joyfully in numerous hobbies and interests. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and an active member of the Bible Christian Fellowship, finding community in her faith. Her creativity flourished through her love of crocheting, and she spent many hours reading and gardening. Additionally, Margaret enjoyed traveling, which allowed her to experience different cultures and landscapes, further enriching her life and the lives of those around her.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Remo Gay, and her siblings: David A. Grammer III, Patricia Eilene Eskew, and Mary Katherine Grammer. She also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends who cherished her deeply and will carry her memory forward.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) Grammer, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she was.

A memorial service will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at a time to be determined and announced.
