Marcus Ray Landry, age 53, of Biloxi, MS, passed away at his home Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.
He was born in Sulphur, LA, but he had been a resident of the MS Gulf Coast since 1989 where he worked as a paint contractor.
Marcus had an infectious smile and kind heart. He was known for his sense of humor and giving nature. He never met a stranger; therefore, we know he is already having a great time in Heaven greeting old friends and making new ones. He enjoyed music and reading, but above all, he loved fishing which he did as often as possible. He didn't place value in material things, but rather in his relationships with his family and friends. He always said, ""I'm the richest man I know."" He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar and Adalice Landry and Walter and Jessie Ewing.
He is survived by his parents Ray Landry of Biloxi, MS, and Florence Cook of Gautier, MS; the mother of his children Wanda Landry Brumfield; his three children Renee' Landry Sadler and husband Andy of Ocean Springs, MS, Linda Landry Nix and husband Ryan of Gulfport, MS, and Allen Landry of Biloxi, MS. He was ""Paw-Paw"" to two grandchildren Kaylan Maria Cuti and Madelyn Adalise Nix. He also left behind three siblings Gary Smith of Bonifay, FL, JoAnn Borck and husband Jerry of Baton Rouge, LA, and Tagan Landry of Gautier, MS, along with several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
His family wishes to thank all of their family and friends for all the love, support, prayers, and generosity shown to them during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Jeff, Tom, and Chad of the Riemann Family Funeral Home for their compassion and kindness.
Visitation was held Wed., Dec. 19, 2012 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home on Three Rivers in Gulfport, MS.
A memorial service will be held and announced in the spring of 2013.
