Obituary

Marchetta Manning, 86, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Ocean Springs.

She was born and raised in Collins, Mississippi. She proudly raised her two sons in Ocean Springs. She was a medical assistant and certified ophthalmologic technician. Former patients will recall her caring smile and gentle country manner. Marchetta was a long time resident of the Villa Maria and frequent visitor of local public libraries. She loved to read, and was enjoying a mystery series just before her last illness. She also enjoyed British TV, but her favorite thing was sweet watermelon, and she sent family and friends in search of it throughout each passing summer. Marchetta was a faithful servant of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Until she was unable to attend, she was an active member of Woodhaven Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. Marchetta was especially kind to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Daddy Bill" and Audrey Bullock; two sisters, Cheryl and Ramona; and by her special Aunt Flossie, who helped her finish college.

She is survived by a brother, Larry Bullock of Collins; her two sons, Paul (Mary Lynn) and Robert (Hester) of Ocean Springs; four granddaughters, Brittany Cook (Joe), Mollie Lee (Drew), Abbey Manning (Ryan Allen) and Emma Manning; and six great-grandchildren, Kirra, Rider, Max, Oliver, Lawson and Brady. Marchetta also leaves behind a dear friend, Mrs. Teeny Sanchez of Ocean Springs.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Collins, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m.

Following services, Marchetta will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Mt. Horeb Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, 25 Mt. Horeb Road, Collings, MS 39428.
