Malvrin 'Jerry' McClure

Malvrin 'Jerry' McClure - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23,2024, in Gautier, MS. He was born on July 10, 1935, in Marietta GA to Robert and Monnie McClure.  Jerry led a life filled with dedication and service. After graduating from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA, he went on to work at Lockheed Martin Georgia for 25 years in Aeronautics before retiring. 

A proud Veteran of the Air National Guard.

Outside of his professional life, Jerry found joy in various hobbies and interests. He loved spending time at the coastal casinos, fishing, and passionately supporting the Atlanta Braves as a devoted fan and self-proclaimed 'couch umpire.' He was a member of the American Legion and a longtime member of the Canaan Baptist Church in Covington, GA.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Jo Ann (Tony) Williams, and his son Jerry (Beatrice) McClure; his 11 grandchildren Alisha, Jonathan, Amy, Christopher, Felicia, Jessica, Christy, Jennifer, Holston, Jeremy and Brittany; 7 great-grandchildren Caitlin, Cassidi, Cameron, Hyden, Theo, Dylon and Mason; and one great-great- granddaughter Leilani.  His brothers Richard McClure, and Tim McClure; sisters Paulette Payne and Tammy (Kevin) Hughes; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Martha McClure, a son Kenneth McClure and his daughter Penny Williams; his parents Robert and Monnie McClure and a brother Charles McClure. 
 
In his passing, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication to family and country, and joyful memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his kind heart and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

May his soul rest in peace as he embarks on his next journey surrounded by the love of those who have gone before him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, 180 Church Street NE, Marietta, GA 30060, (770)428-1511, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Mountain View Park Cemetery, 410 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA 30064, at 10:30 AM.
