Malcolm Ernest Besnard

Malcolm E. Besnard, age 76, of Diamondhead, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023.

He was a native of New Orleans, LA, and after attending East Jefferson High School, Malcolm enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve where he received an Honorable Discharge. He retired as a sales rep from a chemical company that manufactured carpet cushion, where he achieved regional top salesman. He was also a Reserve with Hancock Count Sheriff Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olive Besnard and Earnest Besnard; sisters, Olive Grygo and Sharon Lyles.

Malcolm is survived by his children, Tracy Hicks (Keven), Todd Besnard (Sharon); his stepchildren, Chris Michelle, Andrea Michelle, and Monique Michelle; his grandchildren, Caroline Hicks and Jessica Besnard; his step-grandchildren, Amber Adams and Ann Claire Hayes; and his great grandchildren, Landon Hayes Keith and Charles Allen Hayes.

He was raised Catholic, and later joined Jacobs Well Baptist Church.  Malcolm was an avid Republican and loved to saltwater fish, shoot, and collect firearms.

The family would like to thank all who looked after Mac in his failing health, which was a true testament to mankind and a refreshing thought to his family.

The visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Jacob’s Well Baptist Church, 29554 Vick Faye Rd., Pass Christian, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude (stjude.org) or Wounded Warrior Foundation (woundedwarriorproject.org).
