Lynwood Elton ""Lennie"" Reinike, Sr., age 82, of Kiln, passed away on April 26, 2013, in Diamondhead.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Beatrice Rogers Reinike, a brother, Lawrence T. Reinike, a sister-in-law, Joan Reinike, 2 nieces, Sue Reinike and Paula Reinike.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Ritter Reinike, a daughter, Lesa Reinike (Greg) Morgan, a son, Lynwood Elton ""Chuckie"" (Brandi) Reinike, Jr., 4 grandchildren, Tina Willis, Deanna Blackmore, Joshua Reinike, and Amber Reinike, 4 great-grandchildren, Austin Raffeo, Breanna Willis, Courtney Willis, and Braelyn Bourgeois, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Reinike served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and he was a charter member of the VFW Post 3937, Long Beach, the Military Order of the Cooties. He served as Carnival Association of Long Beach Grand Duke in 1974 and he retired from Civil Service at the Navy CB Base. He enjoyed woodworking and especially fishing where he currently holds the MS Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo record for largest redfish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family would like to thank Woodland Village Nursing Home and Canon Hospice for their care and treatment of Mr. Reinike.
