Lynn Badorek, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Lynn lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, service to his country, and a deep love for his family.
Lynn proudly joined the United States Air Force in January 1960 and later retired from the Army Reserve in 1995. Throughout his military and civilian careers, he received numerous awards and recognitions and was loved and respected by those who had the privilege of working alongside him. He worked for BellSouth for 25 years before retiring and later served as a bailiff at the Jackson County Courthouse for 15 years. Lynn entered his final retirement in 2020 at the age of 80.
Away from work, Lynn enjoyed bowling, origami, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always ready with a good "dad joke" and enjoyed trips to Disney, where Grumpy was his favorite character. He also had a special love for Hawaiian attire and could often be found wearing his best island-inspired shirts.
Lynn is survived by his children, Charles Badorek-Carl (Deena), Tina Butler (Howard), Corina Braun (Jimmy), Michael Badorek-Carl (Cheryl), and Chris Carl (Kim); his siblings, John O'Lack (Barbara) and Jim O'Lack; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billee Badorek; his parents, Adalbert O'Lack and Flora Gertrude O'Lack; and his granddaughter, Hannah Butler-Gauthier.
A Hawaiian luau celebrating Lynn's life will be held on July 25, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Tina's home, 5515 Dead River Road, Gautier, Mississippi. Guests are encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian attire in Lynn's honor and come ready to celebrate a life well lived.
A private service with military honors will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Lynn's life was truly a "piece of cake," filled with family, laughter, service, and countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved him.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, West Jackson County, is honored to serve the Badorek family.
