Lucile Margaret Hanstine Crosby

Lucile Margaret Hanstine Crosby, age 76, born on January 12, 1949, in Biloxi, entered into her heavenly home on May 8, 2025. Lucile's journey through life was characterized by her unwavering faith, love for family and friends, and strong commitment to her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Reuben Hanstine and Shirley Marion Hanstine; and her brothers, Richard and Roger Hanstine. 

Lucile dedicated 18 years of her career at SAIC and was a successful entrepreneur in sales. However, her greatest accomplishments and joys resided in her family. She openly cherished and celebrated her roles as a wife, mother, and “Mimi." She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard Crosby; and her children, Greg Crosby (Susan), Don Crosby, Christina Crosby Bellanger (Mike); and daughter in law, Teresa Crosby, who will deeply miss her spirit and devotion.

Blessed with 11 grandchildren, Lucile’s legacy continues through Christopher (Madeline) Crosby, Chase (Mikayla) Crosby, Courtney Crosby, Camryn Crosby, Savannah (Wesley) Peden, Lily (Elijah) Woodward, Carianne Crosby, James (Kennedy) Burch, Caleb (Mattie) Burch, Hannah Bellanger, and Andrew Bellanger. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Parker, Adeline, Nolan, Callum, and McGregor “Mac.” The familial bonds that Lucile nurtured will resonate through generations, reflecting the unconditional love she showed to each family member.

A faithful servant of Bible Baptist Church for 43 years, Lucile's life was a testament to her courageous faith and the profound impact she had on her church family. The last year of her life, Lucile's love for her First Baptist Church of Gulfport family was reflected in her smile as she worshiped with them. Each person was precious in her sight, and her compassionate nature touched the lives of many. Lucile demonstrated an unwavering commitment to expressing her beliefs through her actions, fostering an environment of love and acceptance around her.

A funeral service to honor Lucile will take place on May 15, 2025, starting at noon at First Baptist Church of Gulfport. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. 

As we remember her, we celebrate a life lived fully and a heart that showed an extraordinary capacity for love. Lucile Margaret Hanstine Crosby leaves behind a remarkable legacy, forever cherished by her family and friends.
