Lt. Col. Doroteo “Ted” Arvisu Vicente, MD, (USAF Retired), age 79, passed away on July 5, 2024 in Biloxi. 

Ted was born September 18, 1944 in Mandaluyong, Philippines. He began medical school at The University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and completed his specialty of Medical Doctor of Pathology in the United States. Ted completed his Pathologist Internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and VA Medical Center in Miami, FL, and his Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.

Ted joined the US Air Force in Nashville, TN in the early 80’s. He completed two overseas tours: Incirlik, Turkey and Wiesbaden, Germany. His stateside duty locations included Langley AFB, VA, Flight Surgeon training at School of Aviation Medicine at San Antonio, TX, and Keesler AFB, MS. After completing over 20 years of military service, Ted retired in Gulfport, MS.

Ted is preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Blevins Vicente; daughter Dr. Linda V. Graham; and his parents Dr. Carlos C. Vicente and Rafaela S. Arvisu.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Waddell Vicente of Biloxi; daughters, Donna K. Graham of Georgia, Dr. Brenda (Gary) Moye of Tennessee, Angela (Tim) Alley of Biloxi, Lisa (Steve) Maultsby of Vancleave; siblings, Susan V. Lagazo and Dr. Bernardino Vicente of the Philippines; one nephew, John Ramos; 8 grandchildren; 24 great‐grandchildren; 4 great‐great grandchildren; and additional family members in the United States and Philippines.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15th 2024, at 12:00 pm, with visitation starting at 11:00 am, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County. Interment with full military honors will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, 28th Street Long Beach, MS. A Celebration of Life reception will be held back at the funeral home from 3:00 – 4:00 pm
