Mr. Lowell Anthony Lee of the Big Level Community, Perkinston, MS passed away on Saturday, September 6th, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children.
Mr. Lowell was born on August 5th, 1938 in Gulfport Mississippi to the late John Stewart Lee and Eula Anthony Lee of Woolmarket, MS.
Mr. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, James Lee, Doris Ross, Ruth Bartel, Annie Ryder, Jessie Lee, Robert Lee, Ollie Fayard, Hollie Lee, Iris Ryland and Webb Lee, and daughter-in-law, Vicky Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Christine Lee; his children, Karl Lee (Renee) and Regenia Godfrey (Greg); grandchildren, Laura Godfrey (Anthony), Jennifer Lee (Jarad), Emily Trimm (Logan), and Melanie Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Eli, Emma, and Ellie Trimm; numerous nephews and nieces. He’s also remembered by Rovenia McDonald, Cecelia Segraves, and Malcolm Kirby.
The majority of his career was spent at Phillips Milk of Magnesia manufacturing plant in Gulfport, Mississippi. After 34 years of building friendships, he retired as production floor lead mechanic. After retirement, he spent life hunting, gardening, and helping others in need.
He was a former member of Woolmarket Baptist Church in Woolmarket, Mississippi, New Hope Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi, and an active member of the Big Level Baptist Church in Wiggins, Mississippi. He enjoyed carpentry which lead to him serving on the construction teams at New Hope Baptist and Big Level Baptist churches helping to build new Sanctuaries. One of his favorite church activities was greeting people as they entered the sanctuary with a smile, a friendly hello, and a warm handshake.
He loved all of God’s creatures both big and small, capturing them in still life carvings and winning multiple awards in the process. He was a Life Time Member of the National Wild Turkey Federation as well as a Life Time Member of the Mississippi Wildlife Association. He became known in the area for making Turkey callers, and he used this skill to mentor young people by showing them how to assemble a turkey caller and use them while hunting.
Mr. Lowell will be remembered for his generosity in mentoring and helping others, especially young people. Some of those most cherished memories are of him teaching skills such as hunting, carving, shop work, and sports. He lived his life as an example of how to be a Godly person.
Mr. Lowell will be remembered for his passion to help others, his kind gentle spirit, his love for his family, and his faith in God.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 9 – 11 am at Big Level Baptist Church, 1346 City Bridge Road, Wiggins, MS 39577. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Coalville Cemetery.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
