Louise Holston, age 76, passed peacefully at her home on May 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is now whole and at home.
Louise was born on October 1st, 1949, in Gulfport, MS to the late James and Dorthy Curvin. She is reunited with many loved ones who preceded her in death, including her husband, Mike “Mikey” Holston; their twin sons; her grandson, Connor Walters; her siblings Nancy Demoran, Patrica Bond, and Doug Curvin; and her niece, Tina Breland, whom she loved like a daughter. Our family takes comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life and the family she missed dearly.
Affectionately known as “Nana” by all who knew her, Louise was a genuinely selfless and caring woman whose warmth touched countless lives. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved, valued, and welcomed.
Louise worked many years in banking at both Merchants and Hancock Bank, when she retired from banking she went to work with her family’s company, Holston Pool Builders. Louise was very proud of the work she did and loved to share stories of her time. She often referred to her many coworkers as family.
She was a believer of Christ and was an active member of Gateway United Methodist Church in Lyman.
Louise leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: a sibling Daniel Curvin; her son, Jimmy Holston, and his spouse, Mary Holston, along with their children, Taylor Lanier (sp. Evan Lanier) and Dalton Holston (sp. Justus Holston) and her daughter, Carrie Walters, and her spouse, Vernon Walters, along with their children, Kirstin Rager (sp. Cameron Rager) and Hayden Walters. She is also lovingly remembered by many great-grandchildren who held such a special place in her heart: Peyton, Piper, and Waylon Lanier, Elaina Holston, and Lillian Louise and Kampbell Rager. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Louise’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.
A celebration of Louise’s “Nana’s” life will be held at Beulah Cemetery, 14368 Beulah Church Road, in Gulfport on Saturday, May 9,2026, at 2:00 pm.
