Lou Anna (Stevenson) St. Amant

December 10, 1955 — October 19, 2025

Biloxi

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Lou Anna (Stevenson) St. Amant, age 69,  was given the key to Heaven's gate, when our Lord Jesus Christ gently took her hand and granted her  eternal peace. Lou was truly one of the most selfless souls- She loved deeply, smiled brightly, and never met a stranger. She had a gift of making everyone feel seen and cared for. Even through her own silent suffering of the loss of her only son, she prayed, she mourned, but she never questioned or asked, why?   She remained kind, compassionate and put on a smiling face for everyone else throughout her life regardless of her own heartache, never losing faith in God's plan for her.

Born and raised in Biloxi on December 10, 1955, she was the 5th child and 4th daughter of Doug and Louise Stevenson, Lou Anna grew up on Back Bay Biloxi and still lived on the same street she grew up on at the time of her passing. Lou Lou Bell one of her many titles she proudly answered too; daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, nanny and friend was a proud 1973 graduate of Biloxi High School, always routing for her Indians, she was a hard worker from a young age going to work in the seafood industry for Del’s Seaway Seafood alongside her Momma, and sister, loved working with the Higginbotham, Delcambre and Seymour families sometimes working year around. If Del’s didn’t have shrimp, Seymour’s had fish. The loving, cherished friends and memories that were made at those factories were shared often, always followed by laughter. With all her seafood experience, she eventually became the seafood manager at Winn Dixie in D’Iberville and worked there for many years before going to work at Food Giant in Biloxi until her retirement.

After suffering a stroke 3 years ago, again, never questioning, never doubting the Lord’s plan for her, Lou was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She put up a great fight and rang the bell on December 12th, 2024. She was cancer free, but longed for her husband and son, and other family members as she had to endure so much without them for so long. While our hearts are saddened, all of us you left behind, we know that you are finally at peace. Knowing that gives comfort and joy in our hearts as well.

Awaiting her arrival in glory, were her son, John Richard St. Amant, Jr.; her loving husband of over 40 years, John Richard St. Amant, Sr.; her parents, Doug and Louise Stevenson; mother in law Evelyn St. Amant; her siblings, Alvin D. Stevenson, Jr., Leona M. Benfield, Sharon L. Fayard (Gary) and the sister that was her lifelong best friend and confidant, Mary Ann Kisner; her nephew, John D. Fayard, great nephews, Collin Fayard and Dylan Corey; and most recently the loss of her beloved niece Melissa Dawn (Wilson) McLean (Bob); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and dear friends were gathered awaiting her arrival.

Lou’s survivors include the remaining three daughters of Doug and Louise, her baby sisters, Julie Dawn O’Neil, Melanie Rose Hutchens (David) and Johnnie Lynn Fayard; brother-in -law, Mike Kisner; her nephews and nieces, Gary Jr. Ann Marie, Mike (Alicia), Janet, Michelle (James), Nicholas (Lindsay), Joel (Stephanie), Shana (Anthony), Ashton (Chris), Lauren (William), Heather (Denny); her bonus grandson John “J. B” (Tierra) and their children, Gavin, Griffin and Autumn;; her great nieces and nephews, Trace, Maddy, Jordan, Bailey, Hayden, Alissa (Josh), Sebastian, Shilo, Evan, James M.,Maddox, Landon, Wyatt, Elijah, James S., Tripp, Louise, Libby, Aubreigh and Everett; great- great niece and nephew Harper and Hunter; beyond her large family that survive her are life long best friend Jerry Comer and her husband Pete; Terry Pesch (best friend of John’s), a host of dear cousins, other relatives, and friends who became like family through the years.

As much as she will be missed here on earth, our hearts are comforted by the fact that she is reunited with her husband and child who she has mourned since the day she lost them, and so many others who have gone before her.

We would like to thank the ICU Department, Amber, Nurse Practitioner and nurses, Kyle, Zachery and Leighton at Memorial Hospital in Biloxi for the compassionate care they gave to our beloved Lou until she transitioned and needed hospice care. Mary and Michelle of St. Joseph’s Hospice in Gulfport, while Lou wasn’t with you long, your gentleness, compassion to Lou will always be remembered and appreciated. You are very special people.
