Loren Portie, Jr., age 90, of Pass Christian, passed away on October 26, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Lena Portie; and his four sisters, Lily Roberts, Electra Meeks, Hazel Cuevas, and Elsie Veazey.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joycelyn Corne Portie of Pass Christian; one daughter, Kim Scott (Audie) of Pass Christian; four grandchildren, Steve Kelly (Caitlin) of Pass Christian, Roni Lynn Vosbein of Pass Christian, Shannon Norman (Eric) of Pittsburg, PA, Jonathon Scott (Jennifer) of Alexandria, LA; seven great-grandchildren, Stone, Mack James, Grace, Tripp, Maddie, Nick, and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his extraordinary woodworking and impeccable gardening. He was also an avid fisherman. More than anything, he will be remembered by the life he lived as an example to all.
A visitation for family and friends will be held today, October 28, 2017, from 2-4 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. Funeral services will be at 4 PM in the funeral home chapel. An online obituary may be viewed and memories shared at www.riemannfamily.com
