Lois Smith Davis

September 6, 1923 — November 26, 2016

Born on September 6, 1923, Lois Smith Davis embodied the faithfulness and humility implied in Matthew 6:25-26. Lois was the daughter of Ivel and Lloyd Smith, and sister to XL, QT, Sherill, Melton, Melinee, Thelma, Joncie, and Carol. Her spirit and desire to serve her Lord inspired her entire family. Known as ""Pee-Wee,"" she was small in stature but loved and served God in a gigantic way.
Lois married Floyd Davis in 1950, and was the loving mother to Dianne Denley (Lester), Michael Davis (Edna), and Tammy Davis. She gave her three children and husband the most precious gift of introducing the Lord, teaching them to trust in His promises, and to be steadfast in faithfulness.
She always led by example. As a member of FBC of Lyman, she was a humble servant and volunteer, rarely missing an opportunity to serve others. Providing comfort, food, flower arrangements, or just her presence, she tirelessly worked so that those around her grew to love God as she did.
Lois Davis loved and cared for each of her grandchildren - James Braxton, Melissa Braxton, Ashley Davis (Austin), John Michael Davis, and Zachary Davis, as well as for her grandchildren, Fallon Braxton, Mia Braxton, and Davis Smith, setting for them the same example of knowing and serving the Lord.
On November 26, 2016, Lois was rewarded for her faithfulness and was ushered into heaven by her Lord, and greeted by her beloved family members who were there before her.
Lois Smith Davis leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness and godliness, which lives on through her children and their families.
