Lois DuBois Conn, age 80, was called to her heavenly home on January 1, 2017. Lois was born August 17, 1936 in Copiah County, MS to Wilmer Allen and Willie Beatrice Strong.
Lois was preceded in death by her father, Wilmer Allen Strong; her mother, Willie Beatrice Norwood Strong; her husband, Luther Conn; her sisters, Helen Beatrice Strong Curtis, Carlyn Joyce Strong King Viehmann, Dorris Merle Steffen; her brother, Lenton Wilmer Strong; her nephews, Thomas Allen King, and Stephen Scott Strong.
Lois is survived by her sons, David (Sherri) DuBois of Gulfport and Clay (Dawn) DuBois of Diamondhead; grandchildren, Allen and Laura DuBois, Tiffany Carty, Amanda and Logan Crowe; her nieces, Karen Moody and Barbara Thum; nephews, David Strong and Robert Curtis; and brother-in-law, Henry Viehmann.
Lois grew up in the Jack community of Copiah County and, after graduating from Crystal Springs High School, attended St. Dominic's School of Nursing in Jackson, MS where she received her license as a Registered Nurse. She moved to the MS Gulf Coast and worked as an R.N. in local hospitals and as a home health care nurse. She finished her career at the Biloxi Veterans Administration as an O.R. nurse.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Paul Mullen and his staff for their outstanding care of their mother over the past years.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, with a visitation for family and friends from Noon until the service. Burial will follow at Conn Cemetery.
