Lois Bird

Lois Amelda Bird, age 96, passed away on July 19, 2025 in Biloxi.

Lois was born in Biloxi and made her home in D'Iberville. She dedicated many years of her life to working at TG&Y, followed by Family Dollar, where she remained employed until the age of 83. Lois found joy in spending time with friends and taking part in activities at the Prime Life Center in Woolmarket. She also had a deep love for country gospel music. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigurd Nielsen and Mary Shelton; husband, Paul C. Bird; son, Ronald Bird; daughter, Amelda Krohn; brothers, Sigurd, Robert, and Curtis Nielsen; sister, Mary Kate Manuel; daughter-in-law, Judy Bird; and great-grandson, Clinton Bird.

She is survived by her sons, Paul V. Bird (Sherry) and Jimmy Bird Sr. (Clara); daughters, Margie Bird and Linda Girten (Skip); son-in-law, Blaine T. Krohn; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Delahoussey; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her two beloved toy poodles, Scarlett and Rhett.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Bird, Randy Bird, Jimmy Bird Jr, Blaine W. Krohn, Adam Suggs, and honorary pallbearers, John Bird and Zachary Girten.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the special care given to their mother to Dr. Cyril Bethala, Cardiologist; Dr. Kathy Keimig, Primary Physician; SAAD Hospice staff: Gloria Kostmayer, Sarah, Clara and Lakiya, and nursing staff; and Harrison, Physical Therapist.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:30 am, with visitation starting at 10:30 am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. Biloxi, MS. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS 39531.

After services, a Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 2:30 - 4:00 at the funeral homes reception center.
